Why Brands Are Choosing SOKO Kenya to Make a Real Social Impact

High-quality, beautifully made clothing, ethical and transparent manufacturing, and real, measurable impact — today’s brands refuse to compromise. With SOKO Kenya, they don’t have to.

We know what matters. Customers are drawn to fashion brands that stand for something bigger, offering more than just clothing, but a sense of purpose and a story of real impact. At SOKO Kenya, we’re proving that fashion can be a force for good, supporting people, and uplifting communities, while delivering the craftsmanship brands expect.

We’re not your conventional factory. We prioritize the well-being of our team by offering a living wage, private pensions, free healthcare, and childcare for children under four. Our commitment to development goes beyond wages — we also provide free lunch, skills development, and continuous training. Through this holistic approach, we create an environment that uplifts our employees and fosters growth.

Making an Impact Together

Our SOKO Community Trust runs initiatives that transform lives. Through our Stitching Academy, we have trained over 500 young people, equipping them with sewing skills and industry experience. Two-thirds of our graduates go on to secure employment, strengthening both their futures and their communities.

Through our charity Kujuwa Initiative, we’re addressing a critical issue in Kenya, where 50% of school-age girls don’t have access to sanitary products. This lack of access causes them to miss up to 25% of their education due to the stigma around menstruation. Many girls resort to using rags instead of pads, which puts them at risk of sexual exploitation.

We produce washable sanitary pads by repurposing fabric offcuts from our factory floor, reducing waste while providing a sustainable solution. To date, we’ve donated over 30,000 pads, giving girls up to three years of protection and ensuring they can stay in school and manage their periods with dignity.

At SOKO Kenya, we’re not only committed to social impact but also to environmental sustainability. 75% of our factory's power comes from solar panels, helping us reduce our carbon footprint. We’ve also installed rainwater tanks, making us self-sufficient for drinking, steaming, and cleaning. Every year, we divert approximately 2,500 kilograms of fabric waste from landfills, repurposing it for products and donations to our SOKO Community Trust and charity Kujuwa Initiative.

Some of our partners choose to:

► Donate a percentage of sales to one of our initiatives
► Link a specific product to a campaign that gives back
► Find a creative way to align their values with impactful change

However you choose to collaborate, we’ll make it meaningful. Let’s build something that not only speaks to your brand’s ethos but also resonates with your customers, showing them that fashion can be beautiful, responsible and deeply impactful.
